Strong Month for Newmarket and EG - October Real Estate Market Report

Prices in Newmarket and East Gwillimbury are more than 20% up on a year-over-year basis. Aurora has cooled off a little bit compared to last month.

The average home price in Aurora in October was $1,052,457. While this represents a 11.25% increase compared to October 2019, it's 6.6% less than last month ($1,126,908 in September). The average price for a detached house in Aurora was $1,278,647 and it took an average of 30 days to sell a home (28 Days in September).

Newmarket prices 22% up

In Newmarket prices in October ($914,865) remained pretty much the same like in September ($917,234). Compared to last year, the average home price in Newmarket is up by 22%. The average price for a detached home in October was $1,048,556 and the average day on the market was 22 days (19 in September).

An even bigger price increase on a year-over-year basis was noticed in East Gwillimbury where home prices went from $793,899 last year to now $998,901 ( 25.8%). This also represents an 8.2% increase compared to the previous month.

25% more Sales in the GTA

Throughout Toronto and the GTA a total of 10,563 Sales were reported on the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board. This was up by 25.1% compared to 8445 transactions in October 2019. The average price was up on a year-over-year basis by 13.7%, from $851,877 to $968,318.
